Sport & Leisure Centres
Harrogate Borough Council operates four sport and leisure centres across the Harrogate District in Ripon, Pateley Bridge and Harrogate.
The Sport & Leisure team provide a huge range of activities from these centres alongside the District's Sports Development coaching programme. Private clubs also hire the facilities, all of which hold relevant national governing body recognition.

At all our Leisure Centres
- For safety, supervision of numbers, and to comply with the Children Act 2004, children must be registered when they attend activities at our Leisure Centres. A registration form must be completed with children's details, emergency contact numbers and any medical information. It is important that these details are up to date.
- Please ensure that your child has a place on their chosen leisure activity before you leave the venue and that staff are aware of collection arrangements.
- If your child requires any drinks or snacks, they will need to bring them along to the activity session as we are able to provide only drinking water.
- Please note - our staff are unable to administer medication or provide intimate care.
To ensure that your child is participating in a safe and friendly environment, and to meet the National Childcare Standards, we will ensure that:
- All staff will follow the Council's guidelines on the reporting of accidents, incidents, child safety and the registration of children.
- All staff will be subject to appropriate checks and undertake initial and ongoing training.
- There will be at least one fully trained first aider at all of our courses.
- Harrogate Borough Council's playschemes have been inspected by, and registered with OFSTED.
