Nuisances (noise, smell, dust etc.)
We only deal with nuisances if they are statutory nuisances. A statutory nuisance can be described as an unreasonable interference with the enjoyment of a property, or if it affects the health of people and occurs on a regular basis continuously for a period of time. In this context it can include:
The emissions must arise from premises, but we do not deal with complaints of odours or insects arising from domestic premises.
Typical complaints of this type are smoke from garden bonfires, smoking chimneys, dust from building and demolition activity and cooking odours from restaurants.
