Kerbside Recycling
Where does the scheme take place?
Kerbside collections currently cover approx 93% of the district and we are continuing to expand the scheme as resources allow. If you do not live in an area that is currently serviced by the kerbside scheme, you may take your recycling to one of the Household Waste and Recycling Centres at Wetherby Road, Harrogate, Pennypot Lane, Harrogate or Dalamires Lane, Ripon or to one of the Districts mini recycling centres.
Residents living in Knaresborough who do not receive a kerbside collection may take their recycling to the mobile recycling centre on alternate Tuesdays. Find out the dates and locations of the mobile recycling centres
For specific information on areas covered please contact 0845 300 6091 or complete our online form.
Ripon Community Link are a charitable organisation who provide a supplementary recycling collection service to Bridge View and Lickley Street in Ripon.
How do I take part?
You can order a black box for glass bottles and cans and a blue bag for newspapers and magazines by telephoning our Customer Contact Centre on 0845 300 6091. There may be a charge for replacement containers. The recycling box and bag will be emptied once a fortnight. You will receive a calendar detailing which weeks your containers will be emptied and you will be advised of your collection day.
Please put your containers out to be collected in a safe easily visible position at the pavement/kerbside to the front of your property for 7.00am.
Please take them back as soon as possible after they have been emptied.
Please note we do have permission from North Yorkshire highways for containers to be out on the day of collection.
