Guest Permits
Residents
If you want to buy guest permits for your visitors you need a person code. You can apply for this by completing an application form (see below). Guest Permits cost 16 pence a day. You can also buy guest permits for occasional use on your own car. This is useful if you work full-time and your car is not normally parked at your home between 9 am and 6pm.
Guest permits are only valid within your residential zone and cannot be used in other zones.
Proof of Residency
When you apply you will need to provide evidence that you live at the address you have given.
You can do this either by ticking the 'electoral roll' option on the application form or by submitting your own proof (e.g. copy of council tax bill, driving licence or tenancy agreement).
Letters, bank statements, bills etc. can be sent to forwarding addresses and therefore do not offer proof.
If you cannot obtain a photocopy you should take your original document and your application form to the Customer Services Team at
Crescent Gardens and ask the receptionist to confirm that they have seen the document verifying name and address.
Do not post the original documents.
Guest Houses and Hotels
If you are a proprietor of a guest house or hotel with up to 60 guest rooms you should apply for a person code to obtain Guests' Permits to issue to your guests. We need information on the number of guest rooms and the number of cars which can be parked in your grounds. It will be used to determine the number of Guest Permits you will be entitled to buy each year. The price of Guests' Permits will be 16 pence each per day.
We ask you to accommodate as many of your guests' cars as possible in the hotel grounds. We realise this is not possible for the smallest hotels and guest houses. Hotels with over 60 guest rooms are expected to accommodate all their guests' cars within their grounds. They are not eligible to purchase guest permits.
When issuing permits to your guests we ask you to tell them that the permit is only valid within your zone (near the hotel or guest house). We rely on you not to pass your Guests' Permits to persons other than your genuine guests. If the allocation of Guests' Permits is used up, no further permits can be issued.
Proof of Eligibility
When applying you should provide evidence of eligibility, such as business stationery showing the company/VAT registration number, linking you as proprietor to the business and to the address.
Discounts
If you are aged 60 years or above, Registered Disabled or in receipt of Income Support or Job Seekers Allowance, you can apply for a 50% discount on all permits. You should submit photocopy evidence in support of your claim (e.g. pension book or birth certificate, disabled persons permit, order book for Income Support, Family Credit etc. or ES40 signing-on book). If you cannot get photocopies you should bring your documents to the Customer Services Team at Crescent Gardens and ask the receptionist to confirm they have seen it. Do not post the original documents.

Buying Guest Permits
Anyone entitled to buy Guest Permits who has not used up their annual allocation can pre order more by completing the form below. The Permits will then normally be ready for collection from the Customer Services Team at Crescent Gardens two working days later.
