Chimney Heights

Any commercial or industrial boiler or furnace needs prior approval for the height of the chimney. This is based on the type and amount of pollutants coming out of that chimney. |
The correct height ensures that these pollutants are properly dispersed and do not affect local residents.
If your chimney height has not been approved, it is an offence to:
- burn pulverised fuel
- burn at a rate of 45.4 kg or more an hour any other solid matter or
- burn at a rate equivalent to 366.4 kW or more any liquid or gaseous matter
