EVENTS AT HARROGATE MUSEUMS AND ARTS
Sporting Harrogate district
An exhibition celebrating the variety of sports on offer in the Harrogate district will tour around local leisure and community centres in the Harrogate district between April and the end of September 2012.
It features extracts from interviews recorded with members, young and old, of the following local sports clubs:
• Starbeck Centenary Swimming Club
Discover historic facts about the clubs and hear about the present day experience of being involved with them.
Hear tales of getting lost in the fog at Ripon Sailing Club and memorable games played by Harrogate Rugby Club.
The touring exhibition with audio clips takes the form of a free ‘listening station’ accompanied by background information and photographs from the clubs. The tour will visit:
• Nidderdale Pool: 3rd April – 1st May
• Crescent Gardens, Harrogate Borough Council main office reception (HG1 2SG): 1st May – 28th May
• Jennyfields Styan Community Centre: 28th May – 1st June
• Fairfax Community Centre: 1st June – 25th June
• Rossett Sports Centre: 20th July - 28th August
Knaresborough Community Centre: 28th August – 10th September
• Starbeck Library: 10th September – 1st October
