Arts Lottery Funding
Projects under £100,000
Projects totalling less than £100,000 are administered through the Regional Arts Lottery Programme summary details of which are given below.
The Regional Arts Lottery Programme is managed by the 10 English regional arts boards (RABS) which are delegate bodies of the Arts Council. Support is available for arts projects, small scale capital and organisational development. The programme supports five areas of work; access, education, production and distribution, investment in artists, and the development and sustainability of arts organisations.
Applications will be assessed according to five criteria quality of artistic and educational activity; public benefit; ability to manage the project; contribution to regional and national priorities; and financial viability. Each RAB has set its own regional priorities for the scheme. Applicants have to be formally constituted as an organisation with a bank account.
The 10 English Regional Arts Boards organise the Regional Arts Lottery Programme. The programme aims to support high-quality arts projects by making grants available under the following headings.
- Access to the arts
- Education through the arts
- Production and distribution of the arts
- Investment in artists
- Development to help build long-term stability of arts organisations (organisational development)
Each Regional Arts Board has its own priorities under these headings based on the specific needs of the arts in their region. The principles of excellence, diversity and equal opportunities back the programme up. It is important that you should look at the priorities of your relevant Regional Arts Board.
