Spa Gardens is a beautiful park right in the heart of Ripon with something for everyone. As well as proudly flying the Green Flag, the Gardens also boast Ripon's War Memorial, which has taken the Best War Memorial in the "town class" several times in the Yorkshire In Bloom awards and a splendid Victorian bandstand where band concerts take place on Sunday afternoons throughout the summer. For birdwatchers, carefully sited nesting boxes have encouraged many varieties to make a home in the Gardens alongside outdoor games and the Sun Parlour Café serving home cooked food.
In 2011 the Friends of Spa Gardens working in partnership with Harrogate Borough Council, were successful in securing funding towards the restoration of both the War Memorial and the Marquess of Ripon Statue within Spa Gardens. More information relating to the Heritage of these Monuments has been produced in a leaflet, it also contains information about the funders and the restoration work.

Parking
There is limited on-street parking alongside Spa Park which is situated opposite the entrance to Spa Gardens.

Disabled access
The main entrance is accessible by the disabled and there are disabled toilets within the Gardens.
Friends of Spa Gardens Group
The Group is made up of representatives from the local area, who have an interest in the park or open space and want to be involved in how it is managed. The group generally meet at the Sun Parlour Cafe in the Gardens every six weeks to discuss the future management and development of the gardens and Ripon Spa Park.

Green Flag award scheme is due to the close working relationship between the Group and Harrogate Borough Council.
