Green Pennant Award Scheme winner 2006
The Civic Trust, the country's leading urban environment charity, awarded a Green Pennant award to Oatlands Allotment Association in 2006. It is the first allotment site in the region to win this national award and one of only two winners in the whole of Yorkshire and Humberside. The judges scored the site on first impressions, safety, maintenance and cleanliness, environmental sustainability, management of any conservation issues and community involvement and achievements, both in terms of managing the space and securing funding to do so.
