Winter Sparkle free family fun event 4 December

Winter Sparkle free family fun event 4 December

Residents and visitors are being invited to come along to Winter Sparkle at the Mercer Gallery, Royal Pump Room Museum and Sun Pavilion, Harrogate on Sunday, 4 December. The event, which will celebrate the winter season, is a free fun day out for all the family.

Organised by Harrogate Borough Council the fun will start at 11.00 am with a walkabout by a family of giant snowmen and will end at 3.30pm with a lantern procession.

Councillor Pat Jones, Cabinet Member for Cultural Services said:   "This will be a smashing day out for all the family.   They will be able to enjoy seasonal craft activities, family talks, spring bulb planting and the exhibitions in the Mercer Gallery and Royal Pump Room, where entry will be free all day.   Staff in the department will give up their leisure time to make sure that this event goes with a swing. I want to take this opportunity to thank them for all the work that they put in."

In addition to Christmas activities, there will also be face-painting with a sparkle, poinsettias and cyclamen for sale and seasonal refreshments in the Sun Pavilion.   A card will be issued to visitors that will be stamped at each venue for entry into a prize draw for a number of great pre-Christmas surprises.   And of course, those giant snowmen will be making an appearance throughout the day.
