Council Departments

Council Departments

The Council is organised into five departments, lead by the Chief Executive, in addition to the commercially run Harrogate International Centre.
 
Department of Resources
Responsible for all the council's information technology, finance services, human resources, legal and administration functions.   Its main site is at the Council Offices, Crescent Gardens, Harrogate.
 
Department of Community Services 
Responsible for all environment health, housing, street cleansing, parks and open spaces, museums, sport and leisure activities, liquor licensing, and public protection including community safety.   Its main site is Springfield House, Kings Road, Harrogate.
 
Department of Development Services
Responsible for highways, planning, building control, construction and building management, the economic development of the district, and council property. Its main site is Knapping Mount, West Grove Road, Harrogate.
 
Department of Corporate Policy and Improvement
Responsible for driving forward council-wide initiatives and new projects, and enhancing corporate planning, corporate control and performance management. The teams are:
 
Department of Information, Communication and Technology
Responsible for developing our use of technology and information to improve service delivery, customer service, communication and increase efficiencies.
