Children's Playgrounds & Skate Areas
Harrogate Borough Council manages and maintains 57 children's playgrounds, all of which are open all year round.

Standards
All new children's playground equipment and safety surfaces are tested to meet highest possible safety standards (EN 1176/77). A qualified maintenance team carries out weekly inspections, maintenance and safety checks. Annually a playground Inspector from RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) inspects the playgrounds and produces a report and recommendations.
- We inspect all of our playgrounds and check equipment, safety surfacing and access fortnightly.
- We respond to emergency incidents where possible within the same working day. Our playgrounds are serviced regularly and safety is given the highest priority.
