Noel Coleman was the son of Edward Henry and Mary Ann Coleman of Starbeck. His wife's name was Ruth.
He was the Superintendent of Starbeck Baths before volunteering for the RAF in November 1940. His family had been associated with the Baths since they were first built in 1870. His father was the very first Superintendent and his brother-in-law took over when he left to join the RAF.
He was educated at Harrogate Grammar School and he often took part in the Harrogate Motor Club grass track races.
He was killed, aged 33, serving as an air gunner in a 35 Squadron Halifax bomber.
He is also remembered on the Knaresborough memorial and the Harrogate Grammar School Memorial.
