Francis Duncan was the son of Walter & Sabina Duncan and the husband of Lavinia, who, according to Commonwealth War Graves Commission records, was living in Pontefract.
He was killed in the Western Desert, at the age of 28, and his body was never identified. He is commemorated on the Alamein Memorial to the Missing and also on the Knaresborough war memorial.
