We can advise on issues such as child protection, club development, volunteers, marketing, Clubmark accreditation, constitutions, risk assessments and funding sources.
The following Project Planning Guide will help your club develop a good project plan if you have a development need.
Contact with National Governing Bodies North Yorkshire Sport, our County Sports Partnership, work closely with National Governing Bodies of Sport (NGBs) in many different sports, at a county and regional level. If you need support from your NGB please contact North Yorkshire Sport who will be able to put you in touch with the relevant National Governing Body officer.
Club Accreditation Many NGBs have a club accreditation scheme, either Clubmark itself or a similar scheme such as the FA's Charter Standard, or the RFU's Seal of Approval. Clubs that have achieved accreditation will be recognised on a national scale as being a quality club.
Going through the accreditation process enables a club to gain easier access to funding support and coach education and helps the club identify its development needs for the future. The process involves looking into a club's current way of working and improving on this to include:
- Club constitution and management structure
- Duty of care and child welfare
- Equity and ethics
- Coaching and competition pathways
Club MarkFor further information on the clubmark process or to download some handy templates for your file, please visit the website www.clubmark.org.uk
Any club working towards accreditation will receive support from the Sports Development Team, the NGB regional development officer and North Yorkshire Sport.
The Sports Development Team has helped many clubs successfully achieve Club Mark in recent years including a riding school, several cricket clubs and a volleyball club, who have all been supported through the accreditation process successfully.
