Discretionary housing payments

Discretionary housing payments give extra financial help to people who are already receiving Housing or Council Tax Benefit, but still have a shortfall in   their rent or Council Tax that they are finding difficult to meet.   Payments may be made where people are experiencing extreme financial hardship.
