Horseshoe Field Bridge

Horseshoe Field Bridge

The historic Horseshoe Field bridge linking Conyngham Hall to Horseshoe Field and other fields beyond has now been restored to its original condition.   Thanks to funding from Knaresborough Town Council, Renaissance Knaresborough (through the Yorkshire Forward Rural Target Fund) and Harrogate Borough Council, all of the timber structure has now been rebuilt with new timber. The old stone abutments and piers were found to be in excellent condition, so the entire bridge is now ready to last for many more decades.

In August 2008 a ceremony was held to officially open the bridge to the public.

The bridge is now ready to allow mowing equipment to reach Horseshoe Field and to enable other vehicles to reach the field for any events which are to be held there in the future.
