Francis Frith's Egypt one of its top five museum visits in the North of England, so come along to see for yourself!
Francis Frith's Egypt is currently showing at the Royal Pump Room Museum where you can see photographs of Ancient Egyptian temples and monuments from the 19th century to the present day alongside many treasures from the Harrogate's Egyptology collection.
You can see objects from everyday life such as vases, jewellery, a mirror, amulets, a scribe's palette and weaponry such as axes and maceheads.

Here you will also find mummy masks, shabti figures, canopic jars and objects linked to the Pharoahs as well as being able to explore the different scientific techniques being used at the University of York to find out more about the objects what were they used for? Made from? Are they the genuine article?
As if that's not enough the museum also offers the chance to enjoy a trip to bygone Harrogate with information about its spa heyday. See shop fronts and treatments people endured.
And there's plenty of hands-on things to do with Egyptian clothes to try on, jewellery to make and scientific materials so you can do some testing of your own.
You can borrow a backpack to help you discover the spa history, have a go at activity sheets and trails and even play a mystery object game.
The Royal Pump Room Museum is open Monday to Saturday from 10am until 5pm and Sunday from 12pm until 5pm (August only, 2pm other Sundays). Admission is £3 per adult, £1.70 for children and £2 for concessions with a family ticket (2 adults + 3 children) available for only £8.50!
