Community groups invited to meet national funding bodies
14 October 2008
OVERtwenty national funding bodies are coming to the Harrogate district and the organisers, Ripon and Harrogate Councils for Voluntary Service and Harrogate Borough Council, are urging anyone wanting funding for a community project to come along to meet them.
The 2008 'meet the funder' event is being held on 28 October at King James's School, Knaresborough between 11.45 pm and 4.00 pm.
The event is free of charge and as well as meeting the funders face to face, delegates will have the opportunity to attend free workshops on marketing their organisation; how to take the step from unincorporated to social enterprise; as well as making a case for capital projects.
There will also be seminars presented by the BIG Lottery, WREN, Lloyds TSB, Abbey Charitable Trust, Arts' Council, Business Link Yorkshire and Charity Bank in the North.
For anyone who attended the last 'meet the funder', this event is still relevant as funders' priorities can change and this will keep your knowledge up to date.
It is also a great opportunity to network with other like-minded people and have a chat over a cup of tea or read of some of the case studies of recent projects that have happened in the Harrogate district to give ideas of what works.
If you are interested you can either ring Leilah Vyner, Harrogate Borough Council's Project Development Officer, for advice about the event on 01423 556702 or ring Davina Smith at Harrogate CVS to book your free place on 01423 502126.
