ACAS

The Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service (ACAS) is an organisation that aims to improve working life through better employment relations.  This is achieved by working with employers and employees to solve problems, supplying up-to-date information, independent advice and high quality training.

BIS

BIS is the Government Department for Business, Innovation and Science and is responsible for regulating and safeguarding employee and consumer rights in the UK.  The Department gives guidance on how to treat redundancies appropriately and relevant notification required for collective redundancies.

Business Debtline

Business Debtline is designed to help any business which has cashflow or debt problems, providing a free confidential advisory service.  The service provides practical advice that is designed to help you successfully manage your way through your financial difficulties.  Business Debtline can also provide help especially for small businesses or persons who are self-employed.

Insolvency

Insolvency is the inability to pay one's debts.  The Insolvency Service provide initial information on insolvency and redundancy legislation and procedures, including redundancy payments offices and bankruptcy.
