Art and Design

The Mercer Art Gallery hosts a variety of exhibitions throughout each year, offering a fantastic opportunity for pupils to engage with different visual art forms.

Investigating Portraits

Trial our new workshop, linking to our current exhibition Face to Face.

Pupils will investigate all aspects of portraits on show in the current exhibitions.

  • What materials were used to make the portrait?
  • Who made it?
  • Who does it feature?
  • What are they doing?  Thinking? Feeling?

The workshop is a real chance for pupils to engage with teh works on show, learn about the variety of art materials and the inspirationi behind the pictures.
