Planning an Event - Guidance
Did you know you could use council owned space to hold your event? There are loads of different and beautiful open spaces and parks that are available for you to hire at an excellent price.
All you have to do is fill in this
Events Application Form 2012.doc and
Risk Assessment and send them to the address on the form for approval. Please include as many details as possible giving us as much information as you can about your event as this will help us to process your application more quickly. Before submitting these, please ensure you have read the section relating to
Fees.
Risk Assessment
Please identify any risks that may arise from your event or from the venue where the event is taking place.
Temporary Event Notice (TENs)
Some events will need to have a TENs licence or certificate; this would cover such things as live music and dancing, alcohol licence and sale of goods (where required). These are dealt with through our Licensing team. Please call 01423 556843 or email

Public Liability Insurance (PLI)
You must ensure that your event has a minimum of five million pounds PLI. A copy of your certificate must accompany your application form.
Attractions
Each individual attraction at an event would be expected to hold their own PLI, Risk Assessment and any other certificates that may be required.
Fees A small (non-refundable) administration fee of £30.00 is attached to every event to be held on land under council control. In addition to this, depending upon the type of event you are holding,
other fees may be applicable.
Please send your cheque, made payable to Harrogate Borough Council, once your event has been confirmed.
