Trade Fair for Local Landlords
27
August 2009
The Landlords' Forum established by Harrogate Borough Council announces its next trade fair on Tuesday 8 September 2009.
Building on the success of the mini trade fair held at Ascot House Hotel in November 2008, we are holding an even larger event this year, in partnership with the National Landlords' Association.
Set up in 1998, the Landlords' Forum has been a huge success, helping landlords and letting agents with legal and regulatory needs. The council and the National Landlords' Association understand that there is an ever-increasing regulatory burden on landlords, which needs to be explained in a simple manner.
Over 28 organisations will attend the Trade Fair covering topics such as gas and electricity safety, energy efficiency, fire safety, benefits and advocacy.
Councillor Jean Butterfield, Cabinet Member for Housing, says the Forum has been a great source of information for landlords.
She said: "There is a growing number of landlords in the district.
By working together in this way, we have a good source of quality housing which we are going to have to rely on even more in the future.
Locally landlords have been delighted with the support they have been able to receive from the Landlords' Forum."
Landlords and letting agents enjoy networking at the meetings, and Councillor Butterfield would recommend that anybody thinking about renting their property should attend.
In addition to the many trade organisations, landlords will be able to speak to and receive advice from HM Revenue and Customs, Trading Standards and the Health and Safety Executive and take part in any of four workshops.
The free event is being held on Tuesday 8 September 2009 at the Friends' Meeting House, 12a Queen Parade, Harrogate between 10.30am and 3.00pm.
Free light refreshments will be available.
