900 pupils take part in Harrogate Council's 4th annual schools' swimming gala

900 children from primary schools across the Harrogate district will be taking part in this year's annual inter-schools' swimming gala.
All these young pupils are members of Harrogate Borough Council's Schools' Swimming Development Scheme.
Organiser, Lynn McCrystal, the council's Schools' Swimming Co-ordinator, says that this gala is growing each year.
She added:
"This is the fourth year we have held this inter-schools' event and we are seeing more and more wanting to take part.
The children are training hard and for some this will be their first taste of competitive sport.
It is a good exercise in building team spirit but the main emphasis is on having fun."
