Safer Communities Partnership take to streets for Not in My Neighbourhood Week

28 October 2009

The Harrogate District Safer Communities Partnership is taking to the streets for a week of action to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour, in the Harrogate District.

"Not in My Neighbourhood Week", which runs from Monday 2 November, to Friday
6 November 2009 aims to promote what is being done locally to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour and encourages the police, public services and communities to work together to keep our streets safe.

Cllr Les Ellington, Harrogate Borough Council's Cabinet Member for Public Protection and Chair of the Partnership said:   " The aim of the Partnership is to reduce crime, disorder and anti social behaviour in the Harrogate District. Work takes place every day to ensure we achieve this aim, but Not In My Neighbourhood Week is an ideal opportunity to showcase to the public the type of work we are involved with.

"As Chair of the Partnership I want to ensure that the community feels safe and has confidence in the work we are doing. The Partnership has a new website www.saferharrogate.org.uk that again will inform the public of what is ongoing in our District."
