Leaseholders

If you have bought your flat direct from Harrogate Borough Council through the Right to Buy Scheme or have bought the flat direct from the previous owner, who was a leaseholder, you are now a leaseholder.   This means that you own the property and Harrogate Borough Council owns the freehold.

If you are thinking of buying a Harrogate Borough Council leasehold property, you can find out more about what is involved in our Becoming a Leaseholder Leaflet (172KB, pdf).

If you are an existing Harrogate Borough Council leaseholder, you can find out more about your rights and responsibilities in our  Leasehold Handbook (364KB, pdf).

If you would like to become involved in housing matters, then visit the  tenant involvement pages to find out how you as a leaseholder, can have your say.
