Inclusion and Disability Sport

To be informed about future training opportunities in disability sport, please register on our coaches database at www.coachingnysport.co.uk/harrogate and indicate your interest in this type of coach education; we will then contact you when a relevant course is scheduled.

What is inclusion in sport all about?
Everybody should have the opportunity to participate in sport, whatever his or her ability. At Harrogate Borough Council we are dedicated to improving the access to sport and physical activity for all disabled people within the Harrogate District.

North Yorkshire Disability Sport Steering Group
The North Yorkshire Disability Sport Steering Group is made up of officers with a disability or equity remit representing school sport partnerships, district authorities, disability sports organisations and North Yorkshire Sport. This group was formed to make recommendations on equality and inclusion to the delivery agents of sport within the county. The group has also provided guidance, local expertise and support for the development and delivery of the North Yorkshire Sport

Disability Development Work Programme.
Harrogate Borough Council has representation at this meeting. For further information on the group and its purpose please contact Simon.pierce@harrogate.gov.uk
