Sites and Policies Development Plan Document
This Development Plan Document (DPD) will contain development control policies, site allocations and development limits needed to deliver the objectives of the Harrogate District Core Strategy. When adopted, the Sites & Policies DPD (together with the Core Strategy) will replace the Harrogate District Local Plan.

The Urban Areas Consultation took place between 9 September and 4 November 2011. This consultation sought views views on sites for development in Harrogate, Knaresborough and Ripon and on draft planning policies for managing development.

Consultation already undertaken on the Sites and Policies DPD
The
Rural Areas Consultation took place during October and November 2010. A report setting out a summary of the responses received can be viewed on the Rural Areas Consultation page.
In September 2009, the Council published a consultation document showing progress on the Harrogate District Local Development Framework and seeking comments on the scope of this DPD. This consultation is closed, but you can still read the document: 'Plan the future with us' (1Mb) and a summary of consultation responses to it (100KB).
