A Proposals Map is a geographical expression of the policies and proposals contained within a Development Plan. It is used to identify areas for protection such as open space and conservation areas, and the location of sites for particular land uses. It can also show the boundaries of policies with spatial implications, or areas to which a specific policy applies. |
Local Plan Proposals Map
The Proposals Map in current use is the Harrogate District Local Plan Proposals Map. This map sets out the adopted planning policy for the countryside, nature conservation, Green Belt, and heritage and design.
In February 2009, the Council adopted the Harrogate District Core Strategy as part of its Local Development Framework (LDF). As work on the LDF proceeds, the current Local Plan Proposals Map will be superseded by a new LDF Proposals Map.
LDF Proposals Map
The LDF Proposals Map comprises policies and proposals from adopted LDF documents, e.g. the Core Strategy and the Sites & Policies DPD.
The new map is available below and is in an interactive format. This is a Government requirement and will allow regular updates to the Map to reflect the latest position of the emerging LDF.
The interactive map will let you view planning policies overlaid on Ordnance Survey data. You will be able to search for an address and view details of the planning policy information for that location. The service will allow you to move around the map, choose to display or hide various layers of policy information as required, and zoom in or out depending on the level of detail you need to see.
To find out how the plans, policies and preferred site options affect land and buildings throughout the District view the draft proposals map. Firstly, please read the
instructions for using the proposals map. Having read the instructions you will now be able to find out the information you need from the
draft proposals map.
Please note:
this is the first time we have produced an online proposals map and it is currently taking some time to load and refresh. We are looking at ways of improving this.
for the purposes of this consultation we have not included the preferred options that were the subject of the rural areas consultation in autumn 2010
