Spring events for adults
Discover beautiful historic churches, Georgian protraits through costume or create embroidered elephants ihn our upcoming events for adults.
On Monday 19
th April enjoy 'Portrait of a Lady', a delightful costume presentation by The History Wardrobe.
Gain an
enchanting insight into the creation of beauty in Georgian portraits by Reynolds and Gainsborough, with many marvellous anecdotes about the secrets of the artist's studio and utterly sumptuous costumes.
This event costs £10 per person and is taking place at 1pm at St Wilfrid's Church Hall, Duchy Road, Harrogate.
And on Wednesday 21
st April you can either discover 4 Historic Churches of the Yorkshire Dales, or join an embroidery workshop.
The churches tour will take in tiny Bewelery Chapel in Pateley Bridge, the 12
th century church of Linton, Bolton Priory and St Peter's Church in Addingham where a church has stood for 1100 years.
The tour lasts from 9.15am until 4.15pm and costs £22.50 per person.
The tour bus departs from and returns to the Mercer Art Gallery in Harrogate and there will be a lunch stop at Bolton Abbey.
Embellished Elephants is an embroidery workshop for anyone, held at the Mercer Art Gallery.
Use a commercial stamp in one of three ways to provide the design outline for a lovely elephant. The result will be a delicate panel which can be framed as a picture, or mounted in a card for someone special.
Led by Ann Holden, local embroidery teacher and published embroiderer, this workshop costs £22.50 including all materials.
