Harrogate Borough Council is undertaking a four year review of all 52 Conservation Areas in the district.

 

The latest draft appraisals have been prepared for:

 

Clifton

Farnham

Fearby

Hunsingore

Kirkby Overblow

Leathley

North Deighton

Staveley

 

They are out for public consultation until 28 June 2010.

 

The draft documents have been prepared with the help of local residents, who attended workshops held in each of the conservation areas.   The appraisal documents, when approved, will form an 'evidence base' for Harrogate District Local Development Framework (LDF) and will form part of a District-wide Management Strategy.

Copies of the draft appraisals can be seen at the council's offices in Harrogate, Knaresborough, and Ripon, and also at the branch libraries in the district and on the mobile libraries.

 

Following a six-week consultation period, amendments will be made in response to the comments received and the council will approve the final version of the appraisals as evidence for the Local Development Framework and for development control purposes.
