Business rates (also known as national non-domestic rates), are the way that businesses contribute to the cost of local services.
 
 
 
Debit and credit card payments for most council services can be made 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, by using our online payment facility or telephoning our payment line on 0845 129 55 99.

Annual bills for 2012/13 - were issued on 15 March 2012.
 
Deferred business rates scheme - the Government has put in place a business rates deferral scheme to give you the option of spreading the Retail Price Index (RPI) increase in your 2012/13 bill over three years.  You can defer 3.2% of your total 2012/13 bill - which is equivalent to 60% of the RPI increase - until 2013/14 and 2014/15.
 
Small business rate relief - the temporary increase in the level of small business rate relief has been extended until 31 March 2013.  If you currently receive relief you do not need to contact us; your annual bill for 2012/13 will be issued on 15 March 2012 and will confirm the increase

Use of information - your name and address may be passed to the Valuation Office Agency, to help in the valuation of properties or with appeals against his assessment of properties.  We may also share this information within the council or with other government organisations for the purposes of preventing or detecting fraud.  We also comply with the Data Protection Act.
