Dog Warden Service
Harrogate Borough Council is responsible for providing a Dog Warden Service within the Harrogate District. This includes ensuring public awareness of responsible dog ownership through enforcement of legislation and the provision of advice and information on stray dogs, dog fouling and barking dogs.

Liaison with Other Organisations
The Authority participates in the following liaison groups or organisations related to Dog Control issues in order to ensure that enforcement action taken within the Harrogate District is consistent with those of neighbouring local authorities:
- Chartered Institute of Environmental Health
- National Association of Dog Wardens
- Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals
- The Dogs Trust
- North Yorkshire Chief Environmental Health Officers group and associated Liaison Group
