The Leeds Trinity North Yorkshire Youth Games is to be held once again this year at Ampleforth College near York on the 28 June 2009.
The Youth Games brings together junior sports people from all ten school sports partnerships in North Yorkshire including Harrogate, Ryedale, Hambleton, Richmondshire, York, Scarborough, Selby and Craven; all competing across a number of sports. This year the event is being sponsored by Leeds Trinity and All Saints University, and is being organised by School Sports Partnerships and Competition Managers.
The North Yorkshire Youth Games provides an opportunity for young people to gain representative honours across many different sports in a competitive but fun atmosphere. Ampleforth College provides excellent facilities for over 2,500 young people aged 8 to 16 years taking part in their chosen sport.
Spectators are welcome to come and watch the event, but please be aware that parking is limited and there will already be lots of cars on site, so please make arrangements to car share if at all possible.
If your child is taking part and you need further details, your Team Manager will be able to provide these details for you.
Please check back here after the event for results from all the different sports!

Halifax Aviva Fun in Athletics Competition

This annual competition was held on the 22 February 2009 at the North Bridge Leisure Centre in Halifax. A 30-strong team of Under 11s from Harrogate Borough Council's Sports Hall Athletics programme took part from the Harrogate Granby, Boroughbridge and Nidderdale clubs. Harrogate competed against eleven other areas across the Yorkshire and Humberside region, taking part in a mixture of points-scoring and fun events in track and field such as the obstacle relay, hurdles relay, target throw, javelin and long jump. The event was a great stepping stone for all of the children involved,  many of whom got their first taste of a regional competition!
