All new street names must be unique within the district.

New Housing Developments

The Building Control section allocate numbers to the properties.  This information is then passed to the Highways section for street naming.  The developer may suggest a street name if they wish.  Consultation takes place with various interested parties, for example, the parish council.  Once agreement on the name has been reached, we send confirmation to statutory parties.

Changing or Adding a House Name

If you wish to change an existing house name or add one to a property with a number you need to write to us giving details of your proposed house name.  We will consult various interested parties and write to let you know the outcome.
