Members of the public are invited to an open meeting to hear the results from the work undertaken by Harrogate Borough Council's Overview and Scrutiny's Traffic Panel.  The Panel was set up to look into the problems of congestion on Skipton Road and Wetherby Road, Harrogate and to make recommendations into ways in which things could be improved.

A public meeting was held at the start of the Panel's work and, at that time, the Panel promised to hold a further public meeting at the conclusion of its work.

The meeting will be chaired by the Traffic Panel Chairman, Councillor Robin Adderley.  He will be joined by Councillor Julian Sturdy, Cabinet Member for Transport and a member from North Yorkshire County Council which is the highway authority for the whole district.

The meeting is to be held on Monday, 14 November at Harrogate Rugby Club, Claro Road.  The doors will open at7.00 pm and the meeting will start at 7.30 pm.  There will be small display detailing the Panel's work and findings.

The Panel will report back on their findings, will give information about what actions have been undertaken since the first public meeting and will conclude with their recommendations for future action.

Councillor Adderley, wishes to see as many members of the public attend as possible.  He said:  "We have seen a lot of interest in this issue and we have also had a lot of support for what we are trying to achieve.  In fact some of the actions which we have carried out have been as a direct result of some ideas that came out of the first public meeting."  ENDS
