As part of a nationwide initiative to encourage recycling and water conservation, a partnership of local Councils is offering residents of York and North Yorkshire a range of home composting products, food digesters and water butt kits. Home Composters
Last year's promotional offer encouraged
over 12,000 residents of various districts to start home
composting. This made a significant reduction in the amount of
organic waste sent to landfill, but there is still more that can be
done.
Composting is for everyone - not just for gardeners so give it a try. You'll be surprised how easy it is!
The partnership is made up of the following: Harrogate and Scarborough Borough Councils, North Yorkshire County Council, the City of York Council, and Craven, Hambleton, Richmondshire, Ryedale and Selby District Councils.
