Asbestos in Business Properties
I own a business that I run from a premises, do I have to do anything with respect to asbestos?
The duty to manage asbestos in non-domestic premises is described in the following two guidance documents. I am a self-employed plumber/electrician working in domestic premises. What do I need to be aware of?
There is no duty on a domestic homeowner to survey their premises for asbestos. You should therefore assess the risks to yourself or any persons working on your behalf if you think there may be asbestos in any of the materials you have to work on.
