Grants to develop your business
Sources of Grant Funding
Generally speaking funding for businesses in the Harrogate
district is very limited.
Businesses can register with the local Business Link
to access a grant and support directory, which contains
information on European, national and local schemes that apply
to the York and North Yorkshire area (including the Harrogate
district).
The directory can be used to search for potential grant and
other schemes by entering details of your business and project
idea. Based on the brief details entered, a search will then be
performed which will highlight any potentially relevant
schemes.
To access this service you will need to register on the
Business Link website.
Yorkshire Forward, the regional development agency, also
offers a comprehensive grant search facility on their
website.
Links to all of these websites are available from the right
hand panel of this webpage.

Rural Development Programme For England 2007 - 2013
Grants for businesses are available under this
programme and include the following:
Rural Enterprise Investment
Programme
The RDPE grants (>£25,000) to grow existing
businesses have been christened the Rural Enterprise Investment
Programme, or REIP. Yorkshire Forward Facilitators have been
working with businesses who have submitted Expressions of Interest
to develop these up into full applications.
Businesses interested in making an application should speak to
the appropriate facilitator (see below) and submit an Expression of
Interest. Full guidance on how to apply for REIP along with
Expression of Interest forms can be downloaded from Yorkshire
Forward's website and provide information on the eligibility of
proposed activity and our priorities for investment.
Business start up programme
The RDPE Business Start Up grants (<£10,000) to
assist new businesses to start up. If you wish to register interest
in receiving a Start Up grant, there is an Expression of Interest
form on Yorkshire Forward's website.
Again, all are advised to speak to the Rural Business
Facilitator first.
