Fourth Annual North Yorkshire Sports’ Conference

Sports' coaches, players, teachers and volunteers are invited to attend the fourth North Yorkshire Sports' Conference being held on Sunday 10 April at Ampleforth College in North Yorkshire.

The conference will provide opportunities for delegates to learn about key current issues in sport including the development of young sportspeople; the opportunities offered through the Government's investment in school sport; funding opportunities for sports' clubs and the development of coaches.

Workshops will be delivered by a host of experienced sports' professionals and there will also be a sports' panel made up of top level coaches and administrators giving candidates the opportunity to quiz them on their influences and inspirations, their pathway into sport and the highs and lows of their personal journey.  The day will also include presentations for the North Yorkshire Sports Awards.

Rebecca Skinner, who is organising the event, said, "With sport at the forefront of the political agenda due to its positive impact on health and education, there has never been a better time to get involved.  This conference explores some of the key issues that those involved with sport will need to address in order to meet both the Government's and sport's own ambitious objectives".

The conference is FREE to anyone involved in the North Yorkshire Youth Games and those under 25.  It's £5 for everyone whose sport club has gained, or is working towards club accreditation and £10 for everyone else.

FREE transport is also being provided from a number of pick up points across the county.
