Welcome to Harrogate Borough Council's Climate Action Programme.

This is a scheme of work for Key Stage 2, which explores the causes, effects and some of the solutions to climate change. The programme consists of six sessions, which we have developed in partnership with twenty-five primary schools in the Harrogate District.

The programme has been endorsed by CREATE, the national energy education charity.

Interactive classroom resources are available for Harrogate District Schools to borrow from Harrogate Borough Council

These pages contain all the activity ideas, lesson plans, worksheets and other resources needed to teach the six Climate Action Programme sessions at school.

Part of the Climate Action Programme is to encourage your school to save 10% of its CO2 emissions, and there is information on ways this can be achieved.

Some sessions need special resources which can be borrowed free of charge from Harrogate Borough Council. These are available to schools within the Harrogate District and must be booked in advance.
