Supporting Bike Week 2005
The UK's annual event, which celebrates cycling, will be held
11th 19th June this year.
Harrogate Borough Council, Open Country and the Harrogate Cycling
Group will be working together to promote and encourage 'everyday
cycling for everyday fitness' in the Harrogate
district. Cycling is a healthy, pleasant
non-polluting and affordable way of getting around, so why not take
part in the variety of events during this special week.
Events include:
Wednesday 15th Harrogate
Cycle Network A gentle cycle ride around Harrogate to look at
recent improvements to the cycling provision in the
area. Meet Bill Whale outside Harrogate library,
Victoria Avenue at 6.30pm.
Saturday 18th Try a
Bike! A chance to try out some of the
huge range of cycles now available trikes, tandems, trailer bikes
and child buggies for those with small children, recumbents and
adapted bikes for people with disabilities. At midday, cyclists are
able to join us for a four-mile ride around local cycle paths and
minor roads. Meet in the corner of ASDA lorry park, Dragon Road
10am 4pm.
All Week Free advice on cycling The
following bike shops are offering free advice to all on cycling
from 11th 18th June 9.00am
5.30pm.
