Improvement Works
The Council has a 10 year programme for carrying out major works (or planned maintenance) and improvements to over half of the Council properties in the District. The work includes the renewal of windows, kitchens, heating systems and rewiring.
The amount of money the Council has to spend changes each year and this can often mean that the major works programme has to be changed. For this reason, the Council can give you only a few months notice of when major works can be carried out.
For major works schemes the Council will give you a choice of kitchen units, floor and wall tiling, bathroom suite colours and central heating type.
Contact your local Housing Office if you are unsure whether your home is included in the 10 year programme.
