Harrogate Borough Council actively encourages its allotment sites to become part of the Self Administration Scheme.

The plot-holders form an Association, which includes a Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer and Trustees. These are volunteers who carry out the day to day running of the site themselves, with the continued support of the Council.

Running the site in this way has many benefits including:
