Latest Unemployment Rates (January 2010)

The latest available unemployment data shows the Harrogate district to have a claimant rate* of 2.4%, significantly lower than the national  average rate of 4.3%) * Job Seekers Allowance

December's data shows a  6.7% increase in the total number of claimants from December (+143 claimants).  An annual comparison of rates reveals a rise of 43.7%, or 696 claimants, since January 2009. This increase may in part be due to seasonal contracts, over the Christmas period, coming to an end.
