Unemployment Claimant Rate  - July 2010

The district's latest unemployment claimant rate*, for July 2010, is 1.7%, down from the previous month (1.9%, June 2010).  This compares to a national average rate for Great Britain of 3.6%.

The change in unemployment rate equates to 106 fewer people registering for Job Seekers Allowance in June, than in May (a 5.8% reduction).   An annual comparison shows a 17.7% reduction in the district claimant rate (370 people).
