Go straight to http://www.councillor.gov.uk/ to find your district councillor by postcode.
E-DEMOCRACY WEBSITE
The council (HBC) will be incorporating into its own website a system to enable you to find out who your district councillor is (or both councillors if you live in an urban area). You will be able to search for these details by entering details of your postcode.
http://www.councillor.gov.uk/ - Meanwhile, we are aware of an external website that can do the search for you now. This e-democracy website was developed by the Local Government Association in partnership with Keystroke Knowledge and Poptel Technology as one of the Office of Deputy Prime Minister's national projects.
The council cannot be held responsible for the accuracy of the details on the external site but we have tested numerous postcodes in the district and concluded that it seems to work well!
COME BACK TO THE HBC WEBSITE!
On the councillor.gov.uk website you are provided with an email link to the councillor who represents the area where you live BUT we would suggest that you come back to HBC's own website, and use the link to Council Members which lists all our members.
Now you know who represents the ward you live in, you can click on the member's name and be taken to their personal contact page. This gives details not only of an email link and the ward they represent, but also their telephone number, address, political affiliation, photograph, their membership of all council committees etc and their personal meetings diary.
