External Funding and Initiatives
Yorkshire Forward is the
Regional Development Agency charged with improving the Yorkshire
and Humber economy. Yorkshire
Forward was set up by Government to promote sustainable economic
development throughout the Yorkshire and Humber
region. Yorkshire Forward supports the expansion
and development of business in our region by encouraging public and
private investment, and by connecting people to economic
opportunity. They also work to improve levels of education,
learning and skills, along with enhancing the region's environment
and infrastructure.
Yorkshire Forward has an extensive
programme of urban and rural regeneration initiatives, which are
creating vibrant and sustainable communities that attract and
retain business, people and jobs. These are
underpinned by two key documents which are:
Along with opportunities for projects
based firmly on Economic Development to access funding via the
SRIP, Yorkshire Forward also administer the new European Programmes
from 2007-2013:
- European Regional Development Fund 2007-2013
- Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) 2007-2013
- European Social Fund
