7 NOVEMBER 2006 - ACCORDING to national market
research, women will spend up to £1bn next year on making up
their faces. Ladies popping into Harrogate
Borough Council's Fairfax Community Centre on 13 November will be
able to do it for free.
The centre is hosting an open invitation Ladies Day and, as
well as Virgin Vie facials and makeovers, council staff from the
Turkish Baths spa and beauty treatment teams will also be doing
nails and hand massages.
Garry Atkins, the Centre's Manager explained why they decided
to put on this event: "It doesn't matter what
age ladies are, they all want to look their very best especially
for the festive season. This is the time of year
when both time and money are in short supply. So
if any lady is thinking of trying something new but hasn't got the
chance to get into town or the cash to waste if what they buy
doesn't suit them, they should pop in on the 13th and
get some expert advice and the chance to sample without
buying."
And if they want to drop a few pounds before putting on their
party dresses, there will be taster sessions of
ThaiBoxRobics.
There will also be Christmas stalls selling party candles,
cards and wrapping paper and discounted books for children.
The special Ladies Day, which is open to all ages and will run
on
13 November from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm at Fairfax Community
Centre, Fairfax Avenue, Harrogate.
