Coach Education

Welcome to Harrogate District Sport and Leisure's comprehensive coach education and training programme that offers a range of Sport England, Sports Coach UK and National Governing Body of Sport awards.

Coach education and development is paramount to the advancement of sport in the UK.

At Harrogate Borough Council we wish to establish a coaching pathway which produces high quality coaches with clear career progression opportunities; this will not only benefit the individual but will directly affect the achievement of sporting participants within the Harrogate District.

UK Coaching Certificate

The UK Coaching Certificate (UKCC) is an initiative to endorse individual Coach Education programmes, across sports within the UK, against agreed criteria including:

The endorsement of the coaching qualification taken by a coach
The development of appropriate resources to deliver effective and high quality coach education programmes
Quality assured administration and management structure of coach education provision provided by sports
Quality assured training provision of coach education

At Harrogate Borough Council, all our coach education courses are in line with UK Coaching Standards. If you take a qualification endorsed by the UKCC you can be confident you are on the way to coaching success!
