Competitive Swimming
If you, or your child, are interested in swimming competitively, you already have an advantage! One of the most successful coaching facilities is available to you through the Harrogate District Swimming Club.
Over the years the Club has produced a host of champions at various levels up to International standard. Harrogate's swimmers have brought home medal after medal swimming at Yorkshire, North East Counties and National competitions with many swimmers going on to represent their country in international events. You or your child could be amongst the next wave of local heroes!
Anyone from 8 years of age (proficient in strokes) is welcome. And there's a special 'Masters' section for adult swimmers aged 19 to 109!
Excellent training is provided at every level.
All members of the Swimming Development Scheme squads must become members of the Harrogate District swimming Club.
Harrogate District Swimming Club (HDSC) is the volunteer competitive support arm of the Harrogate District Swimming Development Scheme (SDS) which provides learn-to-Swim opportunities through to Championship Coaching and is offered by Harrogate Borough Council. The Club exists to create first class competitive aquatic opportunity for its members.
HDSC has achieved nationally recognised accreditation under the ASA Swim 21 scheme, and is the first Club inYorkshire to do so.
Harrogate District Swimming Club is a voluntary association which exists to promote the enjoyment of competitive swimming.
Harrogate Borough Council employ a team of 3 full time coaches and a number of part time coaches to ensure you/your child is given the quality swimming tuition they need to become our future champions.
